At 14th St. L stop, putting a dollar in the guitar case of a Rastafarian playing "I Want to Hold Your Hand" only to find it liberally festooned with brochures on "The Evils of Race Mixing."
Right now, I am listening to canned James Taylor while waiting on hold for the retail link tech support for Walmart. Clearly, my career path has gone awry.
Though, if David Brooks were reading this, and I have no reason to believe he's not, he would be scorning my metropolitan elitism - I think I get a pass because James Taylor is also a blue state figure.
I'd like to write more, but an unexpected opportunity came along to move into Manhattan and that's going to be occupying most of my free time for the rest of the month.
Been visiting friends and family in Chicago over a long weekend.
In addition, a lot of this blog so far has been a bit of throat clearing,
as I get a sense of what I really want to put up here. Hopefully, if enough
time presents itself today, I'll be putting some notions that are sketched
on paper into pixel.
